America Ferrera, according to the report I've read, is not happy about her doing a sequel of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, citing no reasons at all.
Rumors have it that the not really Ugly Betty star has actually come a long away after that 2005 dramedy, and that the prequel did not make very well in the box office, never mind the not-so-good reviews it received.

I think it's for career reasons, mam. There are only two reasons why sequels are made: either the original movie did very well at the box office or it only did moderately but the studio still wants to squeeze every opportunity to make more money. Sequels usually mean lower production costs because the people in the first movie could be re-hired under the same contract (same pay). America Ferrera, having won an Emmy, is worth more than she was worth before but she is still probably under the same contract as the first movie, she is bound under the same terms and conditions as before. Meaning, she can't demand more. It makes sense then why she would hesitate over making a sequel to Traveling Pants.
