summer plans
Summer used to be an inexpensive holiday as a kid. But when you grow up, you started going out and explore the world, so to speak. I really don't mind spending this summer anywhere as long as boredom doesn't strike away sooner. So these are the possible ways (and places to go) to enjoy the heat with less expenses:
1. Reading at least 3 good books. I've got loads of unread ones already (just recently I bought 5 second-hand ones from a bookshop near the office), at least, this only requires a well ventillated area conducive to long reading (and sleeping a few chapters later. lol!), a glass of iced-cold coke and some chips. That's actually cheaper than watching a movie at the cinema these days where you spend at least P100 for the ticket alone. The book is not even expensive. My 5 new acquisitions are actually worth a little more than P100, because one is no more than P30. But right now, they are gathering dusts like all the rest.
2. Watching funny movies. At least we have discounted tickets for this indulgence. And cinemas are getting comfier by the day, albeit expensive. But again, at least our tickets are cheaper by more than half their orig prices. XD
3. Snorkeling/Scuba diving. I had one already last Good Friday in Nalusuan Island. It was a great treat. I haven't dove since November last year, and it was refreshing and fun to try it in a new place like Nalusuan (photos of which will be posted here soon). And I hope there'd be more coming before the season ends. Libre!
4. The Beach. I'm so dark already. But I'm not going to the beach to further make me a baluga. Just a whole day (or two) of total relaxation, and a long night of talking and drinking and eating and everything will surely be just great. There are many cheap resorts in Cebu. Beach, anyone?
5. Movie marathon. I've done this the past week, and I'm still not tired of it. I still have to make a review of everything I watched during those vampiric moments. For this either I rent at Video City for P16/VCD or P20/DVD, or borrow 1,000-in-1 debedes from friends.
6. Sleeping. I was so full during the holiday, and didn't get to have enough rest. One 4-year-old neighbor the other day after he greeted me, pointed to my left eye and said: "Gi-blackeye, ay!" And I was like, "huh?" I thought there was some dark stain near my eye that the kid thought was a blackeye. But adult neighbors, who were there, told me the kid, who quickly left the scene, was referring to my dark under eye circles. Then I realized I really needed sleep. So I should sleep the summer away...
7. Playing tennis. I've become quite huge now. Thanks to the regular pigging out. Hence, I need to exorcise the excess flabs. There's a tennis court in our area where I can play anytime for free. I just need company.
So there. It's just all a matter of political will now.
