a reef check

As promised, I'm posting the shots I took while underwater (save for the two), while checking Minantao Reef, and comparing it to Talima. The camera, a disposable instamatic one, was again provided by the organizer. That was really cool. :) I would have wanted to own the real thing, but I gathered, the price of the waterproof cover alone already costs a king's ransom, busa magpuyo tah! So anyway, these are the photos...

Project Seahorse field biologist doing the coral survey. This is in Minantao Reef, Caubian Is, Lapulapu City.

One single dynamite blast gives you this result: pieces of dead corals. This is how Minantao looks up close and personal.

13 minutes away by motorized boat from Minantao is Talima Reef, Olango Is. At least the place, bec it's kind of protected (but only very recently, I guess), still has this sea urchin. Yeah, good luck!

Still in Talima, a big blue jellyfish romancing a coral. Yikes!

The people...nga gaduka.

The people...that matter. Chevron and Project Seahorse people. The ones behind the save Minantao project.

Nanobra ang film. Bow! That's all, folks!
